Okay so I hate to go all Mean Girls moment on you here, but “I’m not like a regular blogger, I’m a cool blogger!” -Plan With La 2k20

All jokes aside, I typically found blogs to be boring, especially the about me posts – so I’m deciding to do something a bit different. I am going to sum up who I am with 7 extremely random facts about myself.
The Basics Behind Plan With La: My name is Lauren, I have branded myself as either La, Fur Mom to 6, or Brad’s girlfriend, whichever you prefer.
I just had my 26th birthday and absolutely don’t have any of my life together.
Formerly from Georgia, then Louisiana, and now Washington, I’m just trying to figure out what my future looks like.
Okay now that that’s out of the way, let’s move on to my 7 random facts!
Fact One: I am unable to say no to fur creatures and have 6 animals.
They will all get their own post, so keep an eye out for my Furry Friend Tag. There you will get to meet each of them, but it’s the most special part about my life. I love my animals more than anything else, so you’ll be seeing them a lot.
Who do I have? I’m so glad you asked!

- Delilah Anne-Katherine: The absolute alpha of the bunch, she’s my first cat I’ve ever owned by myself.
I swore up and down until I was about 20 that I would never own a cat. Now look at me. I have 6. As the biggest girl of her litter, she had a bright orange spot on her head that she still has it to this day. Still to this day it is her favorite place to be scratched!
Not to be dramatic but I would die for her.
- Elijah Castiel “Eli”: Everyone needs a black cat in their life, and Eli is mine.
Me and one of my friends Bailey went to a cat shelter in our town after my second round of finals at LSU, and he was the craziest one in the whole place. He was bouncing around and would absolutely not sit still in Bailey’s hand.
As soon as I held him he flipped over and winked at me – and I took him home about 4 minutes later.
- Esme Rose: Talk about a princess. She is hands down the teeniest adult cat you’ll ever see. But even though she’s tiny, she’s extremely loud and quite the talker.
She’s our shy girl that doesn’t want to come out for anyone but her family and her food. Especially catnip, she will whip some cat tail to get to the catnip.
When she balls up she’s essentially the size of a salad plate, but she is my whole heart.
- Oliver Oliver: He doesn’t have a proper middle name because he came with Brad. But he stole my heart the day he came to the house. Brad and his family had warned me about Oliver. They said that he was old, set in his ways, and nothing like my cats. Surprise surprise when he crawled up on my chest and fell asleep day freaking 2.
Ever since then he is the one I am the proudest of. He has come such a long way in being part of such a big cat family. And he’s an amazing and grouchy big brother.
- Weasley James-Bond: Okay, this story is precious. Brad had just treated me to some chinese buffet food (I love me some buffets) and when we went out to our car to head home we heard the tiniest meows.
Behind the restaurant was a small field where we could see glowing little eyes. We ran home to get some food for them and came back with Brad ensuring me the whole way “Don’t name any of them, we aren’t taking one home unless they absolutely need us.”
Well I’ll be damned if the second he turned around holding a little orange kitten that his name wasn’t Weasley. He just became the newest member of our family.
- Roscoe Bradley: Our rescue puppy. When we lived back in Baton Rouge the animal shelter would usually run deals every few months about dogs in their shelter.
We just happened to go one day and walked past this little shaky butt dog in a cage by himself. I could instantly tell that he was ours, but Brad said “he’s happy, he will go home with anyone.”
We actually went and played with a black dog first, but before we left I was just like “let’s go play with that shaky butt dog” and after an hour of paperwork, we brought him home.
I can’t wait until you all get to meet these precious beings. They are my whole heart and they all absolutely earned my first fact about myself. I wouldn’t be “Plan with La” without them!
Fact Two: I met my boyfriend on Craigslist.
It’s quite possibly one of my favorite stories to tell.
I was living by myself back in my old college town, and needed a roommate for the rest of my lease. I posted an ad on Craigslist and had one hit, a married woman from California. She was needing to stay with me as her fiance was in basic training down in New Orleans. She lived with me for a few months, and then when her fiance got out of basic, they moved in together.
Fast forward to a month later and I still needed a roommate. So I put my ad out again, and little did I know it was going to be the best thing I ever did.
I met with Brad at a Starbucks near the house and I think we ended up chatting for almost an hour, and he had passed all my tests.
He ended up moving in two days later.
He’ll tell you that he loved me from the second he saw me at Starbucks. It took me a bit longer to come around to the idea since I had just gotten out of a bad breakup, but about a month later we started dating – and we’ve been together since.
He is the smartest, most caring, and supportive person I know. He teaches me something every day and is possibly the best cook in the entire world.
Together we have lived in four different cities and been through some really low points, but we pulled each other out, and we did it together.
We are currently restarting our passion jobs and working on freelance writing work as we build up our blog and websites. If you want to check him out, I wouldn’t be surprised if you fell in love too.
He has a knack for writing and when he tells his stories, you can’t help but laugh as you read his life on a page.

Together we have 5 cats and a dog, with a housemate cat that we’ve adopted as our own. He’s my second fact because he’s that important.
I’m sure you will be seeing him a lot over here on my blog, he’s my biggest inspiration! (Not to mention the one to thank for helping me create Plan with La!)
Fact Three: Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.
If you know where that is from, then you have just gained access into my closest friendship circle.
I am obsessed with The Office. So much so that for the past 5 years I have tweeted John Krasinski almost every day in the month of May for a birthday shoutout. Still nothing yet, but I REFUSE to give up.
I actually just started my 19th time officially restarting and rewatching The Office.
I like to have it on in the background when I’m working, at the gym when I’m recouping, and especially when I’m emotional. It’s that kind of feel good show you never have to be anxious about watching because it’s just pure GENIUS.
What’s my passion project you ask? Oh let me tell you!
I am watching one episode of The Office, in depth, each few days. I then take the time to draw and doodle my favorite parts of the episode. Not only that, but I’ll also write a completely mini review article on the episode. It will essentially be a book of why it is impossible to not like The Office.
My goal? To break down each funny moment in an episode and write an MLA formatted essay on why I think it is so good.
I am convinced that after reading my book there is no possible way that you will ever be anything shy of obsessed. It’s just impossible.
So keep your eyes open for that.
Fact Four: I’ve been playing the Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery game on my phone (daily, multiple times a day) for over two years.
So I hope this explains my love for J.K. Rowling’s masterpiece that is, Harry Potter.
I can remember the first time ever falling in love with this world.
It was 2001. I was in first grade, and my teacher would read us a chapter a day of the first Harry Potter book. At recess I was always Hermoine Granger. It was impossible to convince me otherwise! All of my classmates were referred to as muggles. (I of course was the smartest wizard in my whole class, and that really hasn’t changed)
Since then I have accumulated two Harry Potter tattoos. One tattered set of books, and a passion for all things Wizardry.
I’m also currently working my way through New York Puzzle Company’s original book cover artwork puzzles. My goal is to have all of them ever made in the history of ever.
I have a cat named Weasley and named my mom’s cat Draco. I’m still trying to work on getting our next animal’s name to be Minerva and call her Minnie, but the jury is still out (Brad thinks it sounds like Nuvaring, the fight is not over).
Harry Potter is a huge part of my life, and therefore will be a huge part of this blog so buckle up. Any Slytherins out there? SAME HERE.

Fact Five: I graduated from LSU with two majors in Sociology and Political Science.
Both of those points are extremely important to me. And each of them will receive their own blog posts (if not many) in due time.
I have been an LSU fan since before I knew how to walk. As I got older when anyone would ask me where I wanted to go to college, LSU was my answer. I got eye rolls and doubted on because out of state tuition is a bitch. But I refused to let that dream go.
Fast forward to my first year of college when I attended a local community college. I was miserable so I transferred to the University of Tennessee where I rushed and became part of the Sigma Kappa sisterhood. I still wasn’t happy after a year. So I transferred to Athens, GA where I ended up getting in a wreck and almost losing my life. After I taught myself how to walk again I spent one semester getting enough credits to transfer to my dream school.. And I did it.
For one entire summer semester I woke up at 6 am and drove 2 hours to my 8:30 am class. It was me (the only 21 year old) and a room full of freshmen. I just needed one social credit to transfer. You could then find me sitting around until my 1 pm computer class (because I needed a technology credit). I would sit in class for three more hours before making the drive back to my home 2 hours away.

I worked and followed this college semester plan for three months, and then I packed my shit and moved to Baton Rouge!
My life and the stories I can share from LSU are countless and will probably all make their appearances in their own posts, but just know it was the best time of my life.
In two and a half years I had fallen in love with Sociology. It gave me a greater understanding of what mental health was and why those of us that struggle, behave how we do.
I went to every home and away football game and cried at my last student section game. I sweat walking to classes and cried after my finals. It was the greatest chapter of my life thus far.
I have never felt prouder than when I walked across that stage to get my diplomas – if you get nothing from my blog ever but one thing let it be this:
Geaux After What Sets Your Heart on Fire.
Go. After. Your. Damn. Dreams.
Fact 6: I own my own tattoo gun and piercing kit.
Ha I’m no professional by any means, but I am addicted to small tattoos and dainty piercings. If you are interested in a blog post about how it works, let me know!
My boyfriend and I have both given each other tattoos and they are some of my favorites. 4 new tattoos are there thanks to Brad! But I have 6 other tattoos that I would love to go into detail about. Some will need a warning label before I tell those stories. I couldn’t count the number of piercings I’ve had in my 26 years.
Should I get “Plan with La” tattooed on me? The jury is still out.
Fact 7: When I die, bury me on the Las Vegas strip.
So I’ve been to Las Vegas two different times and I am convinced right after Harry Potter World and Disney World, it is the most magical place in the world.
From the hotels to the shows, fountains and shopping, there are hundreds of stories I want to share.
I am a HUGE fan of The Hangover movies so my first time in Vegas i had to buy an additional suitcase just for the Hangover merch… It’s a real obsession.
Stay tuned for many Vegas themed blog posts! I have lots to share and lots of secret tips to manage your first trip to this crazy city!

So that’s it! Those are my 7 fun facts that will hopefully help you understand who I am as a person, as well as blogger.
I am so excited to have started this journey, I hope you follow along with me! Plan with La is going to be a blog that grows with me.
You’ll be able to see transformation in my planner, home, and life throughout these posts. I hope you will consider subscribing to Plan with La and even send me an email!
